    John Harrison Photography > "Sunset on Half Dome from Glacier Point" Some nice color in the summer sky with clouds above Clouds Rest and Nevada and Vernal Falls. It was uncertain if we were going to get a good sunset as high clouds hid the sun from penetrating through. These last glimpses were at dusk as the sky started to light up. This is one of those places I want to be on a Friday afternoon!
    John Harrison Photography > Images from the Grouse Fire in Yosemite. I shot this from Glacier Point Road and it shows some of the flames and smoke clearly still going. It is being managed and more information can be found here on the NPS website. http://www.nps.gov/yose/parkmgmt/current_fire.htm This was shot Friday, June 26 in the evening, so I assume it looks even bigger now.
    John Harrison Photography > Double Rainbow on the Mist Trail below Vernal Falls. Ok, I had to try for some of the post card shots while there. I lugged my 30 pounds of camera gear, tripod and water up the mist trail to the top of Vernal Falls. Considering it was 95 degrees out, it was QUITE a hike! Very much worth it. The hardest part was keeping the lens clear from ALL THAT MIST!!! I used a circular polarizer to pull out the rainbows.

The light you see just below the top of Half Dome and a few spots of the left hand side of the picture are of lanterns of the climbers on peaks camping out on the face of the cliffs. This is a 12 minute exposure on a very clear night.

    John Harrison Photography > Fern Springs. This is one of the smallest waterfalls in Yosemite National Park. People drive-by it as they enter the valley and never stop. It is definitely one of the most beautiful hidden treasures in Yosemite. Just over the Pohono Bridge, I myself had passed by it many times. I made a point to visit it twice! People would stop and ask what I was taking pictures of!
