Thanks for visiting a small selection of my favorite landscape photographs. I share a passion for chasing waterfalls, moons and suns among my Nature Photographs. I shoot in a number of San Francisco Bay Area locations including Yosemite. Attempting to capture the light to create the moment when I was there is what I hope to accomplish. Please drop me an email or leave a comment below. Thanks for stopping in! I also have a Facebook Fan located here:http://www.facebook.com/pages/Yosemite-and-Bay-Area-Nature-Photography-by-John-Harrison/190152125697

All images are for sale in various matted and framed print sizes. Please see information about purchasing prints in the menu above. All images are also Copyright John Harrison Photography and may NOT be used without express permission.

John Harrison Photography > "Sunrise over Cooks Meadow" We were shooting in Cook's Meadow and the trees were just beautiful in the cold morning sky. I was looking around just trying to get this complex scene together. I saw trees towering above me, but then off in the distant were those green pines. The sun had just come up past the mountains and I captured this starburst through the trees. Yosemite National Park, Aperture Nature Photography Workshop Contest Trip. This image is available as a canvas giclée gallery wrap in sizes 16"x24", 20"x30", 28"x42" and 38"x58"

John Harrison Photography > "Rays Through Redwoods" was captured earlier this year in Butano State Park near Pescadero, California. It was NOT the magic hour - quite the opposite! I captured this at 2 in the afternoon but with the fog beginning to lift, I noticed the sun streaming through the Redwoods creating those "God Beams" I love to chase! I found this little stream with the redwood bark laying around. I captured this with multiple exposures that I blended together. As with all my favorite images, this is the place I want to be on a Friday afternoon.
John Harrison Photography > Rock Textures in Point Lobos #1. Point Lobos is one of my favorite places to shoot. One of my favorite things to shoot is abstracts of rocks in nature. There is an infinite amount of color and textures that can be found. This grouping of pebbles with their vibrant colors just seemed simple yet beautiful. The Rock Textures in Point Lobos series was created for the Rok Bistro Hot Rock and Fondue restaurant where I have a long term solo exhibit. Seeing THIS image on canvas is what pushed me to purchase the gigantic printer and start doing more work on canvas. The image is vibrant and stunning - jumping off the canvas!
John Harrison Photography > "Watching Ocean Flows" was captured at sunrise on an outing when I was shooting with Kevin McNeal and Edward Nunez - Kevin and Ed were off playing in the big waves with their waders and I was off finding this perfect setting! The bird sat there perfectly still during the 5 second exposure! The textures in the clouds and blue and purple tones in the rock in the foreground with the water swirling around are what really excited me when I captured this! Like all of my favorite images, this is a place I want to be on a Friday afternoon. Enjoy! John

John Harrison Photography > "Last Images of the Grant Road Farm, Mountain View, California" This is one of the last farms in Silicon Valley. Generations of families have taken their kids to the pumpkin patch, bought Christmas trees, or huge sunflowers at the farm. The mustard had been cut down and truck was gone when I went back the next week. Grant Road farm is located near El Camino Hospital in Mountain View and has been slated to be torn down become houses.
