"McWay Falls Waterfall at Sunset"
The gentle waves at McWay Falls in Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park were coming in while the sun was setting. This image was the lush green foliage of the foreground together with the palm tree creating a nice curve of the bay. The light was really getting nice here with the beams coming through in the foreground and turning the water a much more teal and turquoise green that is true to what you see! McWay falls near Big Sur in Northern California is one of my favorite places! So many people have no idea where this California Secret is located including all those people that DO make it to Big Sur! This California Waterfall that spills directly into the ocean is located about 25-30 minutes further South from Big Sur. With only a 5 minute walk from Highway One, this is almost one of the most accessible beautiful and tranquil spots in nature! While weekends in the spring and summer can be a little crowded, many times I have had this joy to myself. Ah.... so tranquil and refreshing to just hear the waves moving down below. The beach is NOT easily accessed and visitors are recommended to not venture down - getting up without proper gear isn't easy. Enjoy this amazing place and only take pictures. D18884
