John Harrison Photography > 3/9 "Full Moon Rising over Half Dome" The clouds and fog were pretty thick along the ground as we were coming back from a day of shooting in Yosemite National Park last weekend. The full moon was rising behind Half Dome and created an ominous glow with the clouds. For the photo techies... I captured this with the Nikon D3S @12,800 ISO, f/8 and 4s and the 14-24 lens that I rented for the last trip. Sure would LOVE to own this camera, but at $5200 for the body and $1800 for the lens, I am going to have to wait a while. Pretty amazing to push something to that ISO! I DID run this through two passes of a noise filter (Noiseware Pro) in Photoshop.

John Harrison Photography > 3/2 "Cathedral Spires and Rocks in Winter". Just back from another fantastic weekend in Yosemite including the Yosemite Renaissance reception! I did get out to take pictures in between the bad weather. This morning was perfect...the clouds and fog were swirling around the spires and rocks here with a hint of blue sky peeking through! The two spires on the left, I believe, are called the Lower and Higher Cathedral Spire, while the the two on the right are the Higher Cathedral and Middle Cathedral Rock. I can just imagine seeing the climbers ascending those later this Spring.

John Harrison Photography > "Top of the World" Fresh snowstorm blanketed the mountain peaks in Yosemite. This is the ridge near Yosemite Falls above the Yosemite Lodge at the Falls and the blue sky behind it look pristine in this winter wonderland. DSC_0587
John Harrison Photography > The New and Improved view from Tunnel View. Spring. This is what the view looks like now after a major renovation project at Tunnel View to help restore what the view looked like years ago. They trimmed quite a few tries that had grown up and widened the parking lot so tourists don't get run over trying to take pictures (previously people would stand in the parking lot to get a good picture of people at the overlook.
