"Yosemite Fall Colors at Sunset" Yosemite National Park

"Yosemite Fall Colors at Sunset" Driving along Highway 120 into Yosemite National Park, there is a beautiful grove of trees and greenery around. I was leaving Yosemite National Park near sunset and caught the starburst of the sun together with the fall colors. Those reds, yellows and oranges offset by the green trees just captured my eye. What a wonderful place!

  • "Edge of the World" Northern California Coastline at Sunset, Bean Hollow State Beach Tafoni. This seascape was captured along the Northern California coastline near Half Moon Bay and Bean Hollow State Beach. These Tafoni rock formations are just amazing as they twist and turn with pockets that look like brains. This is a 30 second exposure where the water has turned soft and silky with the sun setting in the background. This image spoke to me as it felt like the edge of the world with the ocean just touching it. This is a re-process of the image that I really liked and I brought out the tones of the sunset and shadows in the rocks. Let me know what you think! Thanks!   • "Sunset from the Many Glacier Lodge" Glacier National Park, Swiftcurrent Lake. Many Glacier Hotel From this summer with the calm lake and the reflections on the lake. Those canoes couldn't have been put in a better spot! Just sipping a cocktail and enjoying the view - it was stormy and whitecaps on the lake the previous evening! — at Glacier National Park.
  • "Eibsee Sunset in the German Alps" Too often photographers are focused looking directly ahead at the big scene. This is one of those times when the scene BEHIND me was MUCH more exciting than a gigantic mountain right in front of me. While shooting sunset at the Eibsee Lake at the Zugspitze in the German Alps near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the sunset behind me really started to come alive. I looked for the right composition and the curves of the lush green trees along the shore caught my eye. The subtle reflections in the water together with that symphonic feeling of the light concert above me. Wow.... what a feeling. Hopefully this captures some of that beauty to bring back to share. Lesson - Always turn around look around you! Even with a 10,000 foot mountain in front of you (which wasn't bad!), there might be other pictures around you. I'll keep this one.   • "Sunrise by the Monterey Bay Aquarium" I spent the night at the Monterey Bay Aquarium with my daughter and woke up to an amazing sunrise! It was fantastic to just walk outside the Monterey Bay Aquarium and see such an amazing glow in the sky. The sunlight reflected on the other building along Cannery Row catching the sunlight coming up over the hills. Just another amazing place here in the San Francisco Bay Area.
