"Eibsee Sunset in the German Alps" Too often photographers are focused looking directly ahead at the big scene. This is one of those times when the scene BEHIND me was MUCH more exciting than a gigantic mountain right in front of me. While shooting sunset at the Eibsee Lake at the Zugspitze in the German Alps near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the sunset behind me really started to come alive. I looked for the right composition and the curves of the lush green trees along the shore caught my eye. The subtle reflections in the water together with that symphonic feeling of the light concert above me. Wow.... what a feeling. Hopefully this captures some of that beauty to bring back to share. Lesson - Always turn around look around you! Even with a 10,000 foot mountain in front of you (which wasn't bad!), there might be other pictures around you. I'll keep this one.
