Fern Springs in Yosemite National Park
"Fern Springs in Yosemite National Park" One of my favorite hidden spots in Yosemite is Fern Springs, Yosemite's smallest waterfall. Just as you pull into the valley floor in Yosemite and go over the Pohono Bridge is a pullout for 2-3 cars called Fern Springs. The road is one-way so if you miss it, it is hard to get back to. Just a few minutes to stop and take in this peaceful little spot. Take a short walk down to the river and see the Pohono Bridge from the water to get the full view of the stone bridge. Can you hear the water trickling in the background while looking at the photo?! People drive-by it as they enter the valley and never stop. It is definitely one of the most beautiful hidden treasures in Yosemite. Just over the Pohono Bridge, I myself had passed by it many times. I made a point to visit it twice! People would stop and ask what I was taking pictures of! You can bring your chair and read a book and you probably wont' see too many people around! Another great place I would love to be on a Friday afternoon! Feel free to share and let me know if you enjoy the image! I captured this with my trusty Nikon D300 and my 10-20mm lens at 10mm (15mm effective with the crop factor). f/16 (because I didn't know better), 4 seconds at ISO 500.
