"Mirror Lake in Yosemite in Spring" One of our favorite hikes is the short walk to Mirror Lake while in Yosemite. We went this Spring and were excited to see water in Mirror Lake and were met with fantastic reflections AND nice clouds over Mt. Watkins. I love the rocks and trees and those puffy white clouds just could not have been nicer. Such a peaceful place. If you haven't done the hike/walk, please add it to your list. It is paved most of the way and you can ride bikes for part of it. A really simple walk although if there isn't water it is not as exciting! You can either take the bus from Curry Village from behind the Ahwahnee Hotel (no crappy new names here!). If you do ride the shuttle, there is a Mirror Lake stop as well. I was just checking out the NPS website and the pictures are SO bad I wonder why anyone would ever go!! Being right below Half Dome as also amazing! I will post an image of the granite faces of Half Dome next shot from below! This is a 3-image bracketed shot to get the dark details in the foreground and preserving the details in the sky/clouds. Captured on my Nikon D810, Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8 at 1/60 second, f/8, ISO 100 at 24mm. A big Gitzo Tripod is essential as well.
