"Vernal Falls Double Rainbow" Summer, Yosemite National Park

In early Summer in Yosemite National Park, Vernal Falls is the place to cool off! I walked up the Mist Trail with my camera gear to capture all the rainbows beneath Vernal Falls. It was quite difficult to get an image without having spray all over my lens! I was absolutely soaked! I managed to get a few shots in while wiping off the lens and dodging hikers going up and down the path. Well worth it! One trick to getting really good rainbows is to use a circular polarizer to help bring out the colors. Make sure you bring a poncho and don't mind getting wet - it does feel absolutely amazing with the summer heat! Towards the end of Summer, Vernal and Nevada Falls slow to a trickle so keep that in mind if you plan to visit. Winter and spring can be icy and dangerous. Keep hiking up to the top for some amazing views looking down Vernal Falls and keep going onto Nevada Falls.
