“Nature’s Fury” Volcano’s National Park, Big Island, Hawaii
As the lava enters the sea here at its final destination before sunrise, explosions send nature’s fireworks of molten lava 15-30 feet into the sky. The steam takes on the fiery glow from the flows and fingers of lava pouring into the ocean. The lava streams down across the solidified pahoehoe lava creating little creeks that make their way into the sea. Chunks of molten lava boil at the ocean entry before floating off. Lava Photography is really exciting and challenging. The way the scenes change before your eyes as well as different shapes and textures continue to change. This is painting with nature at its finest. After a two mile hike in the middle of the night, we came across the 61g flow lava entry into the ocean. Make sure this is a spot you venture to the Big Island (either Kona or the Big Island) and Volcano National Park.
