  • "Sunset above Yosemite National Park" I captured this sunset above Yosemite National Park on the way to the Aperture Nature Photography Workshop. Luckily I was running late, as the rest of the crew were in a hotel room while I captured the pine trees silhouetted against the best sunset of the trip.   • "Sunset Flowing", Yosemite National Park, Aperture Nature Photography Workshop Contest trip. "Water, Light and Textures" series. We were shooting at Valley View at sunset with stark blue skies. Scott Bourne had been reminding us to look around and find the smaller images - don't always look for the big picture that anyone else can shoot. The reflected orange glow from El Capitan just lit up the Merced and I found this soothing image. This image is inspired by Charlie Cramer and Michael Frye who I have worked with. This image is available as a canvas giclée gallery wrap in sizes 16"x24", 20"x30", 28"x42" and 38"x58".   • The Golden Gate after the Storm in San Francisco. It was pouring while I went up to San Francisco to put up a new exhibit at Planet Granite Climbing Gym in the Presidio. When I had finished setting up the exhibit, I went out and there was a nice calm on the bay. High clouds and the colorful dusk glowing off the clouds above the bay. This is a 4 shot panorama stitched in Photoshop CS4. Obviously I used a tripod to capture the water flowing in the bay (30 seconds each at F11, ISO 400. Noise reduction applied.

  • "Bridalveil Flows" - Spring flows from Bridalveil Falls. Aperture Nature Photography Workshop Contest, Yosemite National Park. This image is available as a canvas giclée gallery wrap in sizes 16"x24", 20"x30", 28"x42" and 38"x58" I found this little spot coming down from Bridalveil Falls when I was shooting with Steve Simon. I could see the potential in this spot and just kept working it and moving until I finally saw the swirls and nature path coming down. A big version of this image on the wall will let you feel like you are still up in Yosemite. This is one of those hidden pictures that can be found where there and already so many beautiful images to be found.   • El Capitan with Stars at Night. I was shooting out in El Capitan meadow on a beautiful clear night after a long weekend. I wanted to try to capture as much as possible to remember the weekend. There is a climber and lantern about half way up on the right hand side (2/3 across El Cap) near the tree line. I can't imagine camping out up there! It was cold enough just being in the valley. I have another image with my super-telephoto where I captured just his lamp flashing around.

  • "Bouquet of Color" Tulips at Filoli Gardens, Woodside, California. I thought these would be nice to share for this Easter Sunday. This is a favorite of my collectors. I stumbled upon this grouping of orange tulips and the bright colors with the blue flowers in the background really caught my attention. I used a wide angle lens to distort the perspective and these flowers just look great! Feel free to share and let me know if you enjoy it!
