"Spring Waterfalls in the San Francisco Bay Area" Uvas Canyon Creek County Park in Spring, San Francisco Bay Area. D813082
The San Francisco Bay Area is definitely NOT known for our waterfalls! This is normally left to the Pacific Northwest in Oregon and Washington. The El Niño weather patterns finally brought us some good rains and my son and I headed to South San Jose to venture out in the pouring rain! We were not disappointed! The creeks were flowing like an Oregon River! The stream is normally just a trickle and disappears by summer, so this was quite a treat! We later learned that they had evacuated a campground just a few miles away as water from Uvas Creek was spilling over the damn! I played around with a few different exposures to get the best textures in the water. This is a combination of .6 seconds for part of the image and blended in with 1/3 seconds with others. Captured with my Nikon D810, Nikon 24-70 f/2.8 at 24mm. ISO 200, f/8 and 1/3-.6 seconds. Gitzo big ass tripod as well. This is located in Uvas Canyon Creek County Park in the Santa Clara County near San Jose. 1 hour south of San Francisco, California.
